Shahrzad (Shaz) Tayebi CST, IBCLC Craniosacral Therapist, Lactation Consultant
Shaz is a proud mother of two, a 21-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. She has a B.Sc in Midwifery from Iran and practiced midwifery for more than 18 years there (not a registered midwife here in Canada though). Her love and passion in breastfeeding led her to study human lactation and breastfeeding challenges and become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2013. She also teaches the Breastfeeding Course for Healthcare Providers at Douglas College.
Her path crossed Craniosacral therapy with the birth of her son, who has Down Syndrome. She studied it at Langara College and in 2014 became a Craniosacral Therapist to help him with the different challenges that he will have in different stages of his life. She believes it has been life changing for them.
Now, the marriage of these two skills has borne an amazing fruit! Shaz can help moms and babies with their breastfeeding challenges, using both skills! Sometimes, birth traumas can affect the way baby latches and by healing that alone, the latch improves.
