If you do not agree, please refrain from using our website or services. These terms apply to all site visitors and clients. For patients receiving treatment, these terms are supplemented by our in-person clinical intake and informed consent forms.

Territorial Acknowledgment

Acumamas is located on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. We are grateful to live, work, and provide care on these lands.

Age and Jurisdictional Use

This website and the services described are intended for individuals aged 18 and older residing in Canada. Website Content and Use

All material on this site—including logos, text, photos, videos, service names, and branding—is the intellectual property of Acumamas or our licensed content providers and is protected under Canadian copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or redistribute any material for commercial use without written permission. Content is presented in good faith for general wellness education and should never be interpreted as personalized health instruction.

Booking and Appointment Policies

Appointments can be scheduled online through our secure platform (JaneApp), by phone, or in person. When booking, you agree to our 36-hour cancellation policy. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may be charged the full service fee. We reserve the right to adjust service durations for late arrivals to preserve the practitioner’s schedule. Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless direct billing has been pre-arranged.

Fees and Payment

Our current rates are listed on the Fees page. Prices are subject to change without notice. We offer direct billing to select extended health insurance plans. However, it remains the patient’s responsibility to verify coverage and pay any remaining balance. Payment methods include credit card, debit, and e-transfer. Any outstanding balances must be resolved before future appointments can be booked.

Practitioner Availability and Care Modifications

We aim to offer continuity of care, but cannot guarantee the availability of specific practitioners or appointment times. We reserve the right to assign substitute providers or modify care plans when necessary. In such cases, we will make every effort to inform you and ensure quality of care is maintained.

Treatment Risks and Informed Consent

All clinical services—including acupuncture, massage therapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, naturopathy, and counselling—carry inherent benefits and potential risks. These may include temporary soreness, emotional release, bruising, or symptom aggravation. Before beginning treatment, you will be asked to complete a clinical intake form and provide written informed consent. If at any point you have questions about your treatment or the techniques being used, we encourage you to speak with your practitioner. You may request a copy of our Informed Consent Policy at any time.

Client Conduct

Acumamas is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue care for clients who engage in abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate conduct toward staff, practitioners, or other clients.

Force Majeure

We are not responsible for any delays, rescheduling, or service interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, public health emergencies, pandemics, internet outages, practitioner illness, or government-mandated closures.
